Lie or Die is here: submit your idea now!

Here is your chance to come up with a story idea and have not 1 but 5 authors spin it into an 800 word flash fiction tale (including yours truly)! That’s 5 different YA paranormal authors with their own style and their own creativity taking your idea in 5 directions!

But, for now, get your story idea in! You have from Sept 29, 2011 12:00am to Oct 8th, 2011 11:59pm EST to submit your ideas by choosing characters, conflict and abilities.   Anyone can enter their idea  and the winning idea will win a print book of their choice from one of the participating authors.

On Oct 9th, our 5 expert judges a.k.a fabulous bloggers Fiktshun, Two Chicks on Books, Magical Urban Fantasy Reads,  Bound by Books, and Taking it One Book at a Time, will choose THE IDEA, based purely on what sounds like the most fun to read about and announce it at Sunday, 6pm EST.

From there, I'll have 10 days to take the idea and run with it!

Lie or Die Flash Fiction Showdown: Coming Soon!!

First off, I want to thank everyone who has participated in my Kindle/Nook giveaway by spreading the word or entering to win.  It blows my mind.  I'm so excited to be able to give this away and the reception you've given Weaving Destiny is phenomenal.  Thank you to all of you.

I have something supernova exciting to tell you about today.  As you probably know, my roots are in flash fiction.  In fact, I consider my participation in the #fridayflash community an important part of the development of my writing. Unfortunately, I'm writing novels full-time these days, so it's been awhile since I put on my flash fiction cap.

That's about to change!

I'm participating in Lie or Die, an interactive contest where you get to pick what the story is about. Five different young adult writers: myself, Tiffany King, K. A. Tucker, SM Reine, and Megan Duncan, are going to interpret your story ideas five different ways.  Now, I am thrilled to be associated with these talented authors.  If you've ever read their work, you know these stories are going to be fabulous!

Once all five stories are published, you'll get to vote on the best story. Casting your vote enters you to win an awesome prize pack of books and swag.  Is that not the COOLEST idea ever? I can't wait.

Plus our stories won't be on our own blogs.  Noooo, we get to post our stories on some of the most awesome blogs in the universe. Fiktshun, Two Chicks on Books, A Life Bound by Books, Magical Urban Fantasy Reads, and Taking it One Book at a Time.

It all starts September 29th on the blogs above.  Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Should I Be Worried?

My family and I visited Navy Pier, Chicago this weekend.  That's us on the anchor.  My hubby was there too, but he's taking the picture. We had a great time and if you are ever in the area, I highly recommend a visit.

But that's not what this post is about.  This post is about my youngest, the one at the bottom of the anchor.  See, we were window shopping along the way and my family was instantly drawn to this little shop that sold, um, voodoo dolls.

They weren't REAL voodoo dolls.  They're called VooDoo friends.  You buy them and clip them on to your bag or cell phone or whatever.

So, my husband buys me this cute little white one.  It's called cupid and it helps you show someone you care.

Guess which one my youngest picked?  The Prince of Darkness!

It says it helps the user with EVIL plans.  Wouldn't you know it...she got in trouble later that day and I caught her pointing this thing at me.

Should I be worried?  I think this one might get "lost" in the wash.
