  3. Hey G.P.! So, I bought your book this morning, loaded it on my Kindle and passed it on to my boys. We were headed out on a long drive so first I gave it to my oldest, who is 14, who loved it and only relinquished it because he started feeling car sick. "So far, so awesome," is what he is saying as we're sitting here. My 10 year-old picked it up next and read it all the rest of the way, getting 7% read in that hour and getting totally immersed. "This is really, really good!" he kept saying. Then he asked, "WHO wrote this?" And a whole bunch of questions about what you looked like and where you lived and how I knew you yada, yada. "I treasured it," he says now. He loved that Jacob didn't actually die. He was worried about that at first. Both are anxious to "see what happens." So congrats! Neither of them are big readers! Am looking forward to reading it myself.

  4. OH! We had company for dinner tonight, a writer/editor in my writers' group and I passed the Kindle to her to have a quick look. "Great first line!" was the first thing she said. She only read the first couple of chapters but she thought it was really well written. She's almost finished her first YA novel, has written adult books, had a New York agent and recently won an Ontario ARts Council grant (hard to get) to finish her book. So she knows what she's talking about and she was drawn in by the Soulkeepers. Just thought I'd share that.

  6. That's super keen, Ms. Ching. I mean, that is saying something to get up there in the e-book ranks. As Joe K. mentions on his blog, it's nice to see progress and potential long term sales over the months and years ahead with your work of fiction. More power to you!
