Grounded

Grounded

Faith kept her plain. Science made her complicated.

Book 1 in the Grounded Trilogy

Seventeen year old Lydia Troyer is far from concerned with science or politics. Growing up behind a concrete wall in the exiled community of Hemlock Hollow, life hasn't changed much since her Amish ancestors came to America. She milks her cow by hand, makes fresh bread every morning, and hopes to be courted by a boy she’s known since childhood.

But when Lydia's father has a stroke and is rushed to the outside world for medical treatment, Lydia poses as an Englisher and leaves Hemlock Hollow. An ordinary light switch thrusts her into a new world where energy is a coveted commodity and revelations about her personal history have life threatening consequences.

Book 2 in the Grounded Trilogy

After her harrowing experience at the hands of Dr. Konrad and the Green Republic, the plain and simple life of Hemlock Hollow is a relief to Lydia Troyer. Her focus now is on helping Korwin to fit in and preparing for their upcoming marriage.

But when an untimely death vastly changes the expectations of the Ordnung, harsh judgment falls on anything or anyone from the outside world, including Korwin.

  2. I just finished Grounded! As a former middle school librarian I found this not only to be a great read but a page turner. Cannot wait for the rest of the trilogy to see the next steps for Lydia and Korwin.
Thanks for sharing a great imaginative story!

Also loved the Soulkeepers series...cannot wait for the next one!

    1. Unfortunately , due to low interest thus far, the sequel is delayed. Grounded was written to be a stand alone with the possibility of a trilogy. At this point, my sales do not support the cost associated with publishing another two books. It's possible I might revisit this decision after book 5 and 6 of the Soulkeepers are published or if the market changes.

    2. I hope the interest is there after you write book 5 & 6 because I liked Grounded even more than the Soulkeepers books that I've read. It kept me hooked the whole time and I didn't want to put it down. I can see how it could be a stand alone, but someday I would love to read more about Lydia and Korwin. Great Job!!

  7. Please, please, continue the Grounded series. This is a great series and the chemistry between Lydia and Korwin is electrifying. I have read the Soul keepers series and they are great but there is something about Lydia and her life in the Amish and English world that just makes me want to keep reading. I also love her relationship with Korwin. Thank you and good luck with your books.

  8. Before I found out that Grounded was supposed to be a trilogy, I thought it was great as a stand alone book. The ending left me satisfied, and I don't think I would be as happy with a second book for Grounded. I would still read it if it did come out though.

However, I am definitely ready for another Soulkeeper book! I have been waiting on all of the series I am currently following for a new book to come out.

  9. I found Grounded astonishingly intriguing and couldn't put it down. Soulkeeper is wonderful but there is just something special about grounded and I would definitely approve of a trilogy!

  11. I have just finished Grounded. I couldn't put it down and subsequently, finished it in two days! Ha! I came here to find out if there are further books to be added to Grounded and am saddened to see that there isn't enough interest to finance a trilogy! I have recommended it to all of my bookworm buddies (both on and offline) and I hope to see word spreading about how fantastic it is soon!

I also love the Soulkeepers series and am pleased to see further books added. I can't wait!
Thank you for such fantastic reads. I look forward to see what you do in the future! :)
